Since Tuesday 1st February, media activists from all over Africa have gathered at the Indymedia Convergence Centre in Dakar. Around 35 activists from countries including Nigeria, Cameroon, Kenya, South Africa as well as the United States have spent the last few days organising workshops and debates in preparation for the World Social Forum. The programme has included workshops on reporting skills, blogging and debates about topics such as the role of the media in the uprising in Egypt.
On Saturday 5th February, the IMC Convergence will host a meeting for shared and independent media to discuss how to collaborate to create coverage of the WSF.
News and reports produced by the collective will be available on the IMC-Africa website.
