The US Social Forum – Another World is possible, another US is necessary will be held in Detroit, on June 22-26. It will promote self-organized activities, People’s Movements Assemblies (PMA), plenaries, work projects and brigades, Detroit Expanded, Children’s Social Forum and Youth Camp, as well as arts and cultural activities (performances, exhibitions and film festival). There are around 1400 registered activities.
Registration for self-organized and arts and cultural activities are already closed.
According to the organizers, who are waiting for the participation of 20 thousand people, this Forum is the next most important step in the struggle to build a powerful multi-racial, multi-sectoral, inter-generational, diverse, inclusive, internationalist movement that transforms the country and changes its history. Therefore, in the preparation of the Forum several PMAs are being held in communities and cities on several topics, with the intention to give visibility to their local discussions. During the Forum assemblies will be held leading up to the All-Forum People’s Movements Assemblies on June 26th, 12pm to 4:30pm.

Opening
The Opening March will start on June 22nd, at 5pm followed by the ceremony at COBO Arena. In the morning of the same day, participants can take part in the Detroit Highlighted activities from 10am to 12pm at COBO Hall.
Registration
Individual registration rates goes from US$ 10 to US$120 and can be done online at: http://ussf2010.org/register. Registration during the event opens on June 22nd, starting on 10am at COBO Hall.
Other ways of contributing
Those interested in contributing with the mobilization for the Forum and getting the word out can download informational packages and other things. Other than this, you can register as volunteer, organize PMAs in your communities, join one of the National Working Groups or the Local Committee in Detroit, among other things.
