The actions we organize against militarization and war, specially in Colombia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, countries where we will hold strong moments of our Third International Action, will be the main theme in our interventions at the USSF, to be held from June 22nd –26th.
The second Edition of the United States Social Forum (USSF) will take place in the next week, from 22 to 26 June, in Detroit, Michigan. Under the slogan “Another World Is Possible, Another US is Necessary”, the event will gather more than 10,000 people from all countries, as well as international participants. There are more than 1,000 self-organized activities scheduled to take place around 14 thematic areas, such as plenary sessions, cultural events (film, theatre and music spectacles), youth and children’s forum as well as people’s movement assemblies.
This year, one specific day of the program – the 24th June – is dedicated to the responses of US and international social movements to the global crisis.
