Global solidarity for Gaza mobilizes

Today’s attacks underscore the urgency and importance of the WSF Free
Palestine, from November 28 to December 1 in Porto Alegre, e as a show
of solidarity and a space for coordination of global actions,
construction of peaceful mechanisms to achieve justice and discussion
of vision for effective solidarity towards a just peace.

18 people have died and more than 150 Palestinians have been wounded
already in the latest escalation of violence caused by the Israeli
attack on Gaza that killed Ahmad Abu Daqqa, 12 years old, while
playing soccer. Since yesterday, Israel has intensified its attacks on
Gaza. The Israeli army has announced that it has hit 200 targets in
Gaza. The specter of a repeat of the horrendous attack on Gaza in
2008/9, which in three weeks has left more than 1,400 Palestinians
dead, is increasingly real.

Civil society is organizing protests around the world: more than one
hundred actions are already organized for Gaza and the number of
initiatives grows.

For everyone who wants to join the immediate protests, see a list of
actions and contacts details of resource people in Gaza:

To add initiatives to the list send a message to @riverdryfilm tweet
or email or @southsouth southissouth [at] gmail [dot] com.

The immediate responses are urgent, but there is a need to build a
long-term strategy for solidarity in order to reach a just peace and a
Free Palestine.
